Wazoku is helping Linamar to scout for innovative start-ups, scale-ups, and companies with game-changing hardware technologies in the fields of mobility, automotive, and commercial transportation.

With a rich 60-year legacy in manufacturing, Linamar is now partnering with startups and scale-ups in the mobility sector, assisting their product launch and commercialization. Leveraging our strong presence in vehicle manufacturing, our objective is to “Move the World” in new, sustainable ways.

This is a Scouting Challenge seeking a partner or supplier to provide systems or expertise to solve the Seeker’s business challenge; the Solver is invited to submit a written proposal at the Typeform to be evaluated by the Seeker with the goal of establishing a collaborative partnership.

Submissions to this Challenge must be received by 11:59 PM (US Eastern Time) on 10 Nov 2023.
Late submissions will not be considered.

Linamar are looking for start-ups and scale-ups with hardware solutions in Mobility looking to partner with our manufacturing, assembly, and supply chain capabilities.

We're focused on collaborating with innovative partners who are:

• In a go-to-market or growth phase
• Looking for an advanced manufacturing partner to scale up production
• Seeking a more resilient supply chain
• Aiming to delegate purchasing, assembly, and manufacturing operations

SOLUTION REQUIREMENTS & ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA

Our extensive manufacturing capabilities enable us to produce precision metallic powertrain systems, advanced aerial work platforms and durable industrial & agricultural assemblies. Linamar has a diverse range of capabilities that are continually evolving to better meet the needs of a global market.

Solvers from innovative start-ups and scale-ups who apply must have:

• Innovative hardware solutions - Linamar's capability in manufacturing requires at least some degree of hardware component in your proposed technology.
• Desire to scale-up your production and expand your business by working with an advanced manufacturing partner
• Medium-to-high predicted market demand and production volume
• High level of maturity - while Linamar appreciates all Solver submissions to this project, Linamar will only be moving forward with contacting companies at a reasonably high level of maturity, with Technology Readiness Levels 6 - 9 encouraged.

YOUR SUBMISSION

1. Complete the 1 minute Interest form by following the link - Linamar will then have a few short questions about your company's aims, readiness, and funding.

2. Shortlisting and Decisions - Linamar will carefully evaluate all start-up and scale-up applications. Those selected will be invited to a 1-1 interview, with final feedback provided to all applicants within 30 days.

3. Next Steps - Scale up your manufacturing power and grow your success. Linamar will tailor each collaboration to your needs to ensure a successful long-term partnership.

Initially, what you submit to Linamar should be high-level company information and assets you are comfortable sharing publicly. The first interview will be to assess fit, which will then be followed by a more in-depth interview where you will be covered by a NDA.

Wazoku and Linamar are committed to letting all interested parties know about their fit for these projects as quickly as possible. After initial Wazoku screening, Linamar will let us know within 2 weeks of receipt of your proposal whether they would like to move forward with an initial interview. Then, after your initial interview, Linamar is committed to sharing their intentions and next steps (if applicable) within a subsequent 2-week time period.

Linamar also feel that every Solver, start-up, or scale-up who submits in these Challenges should receive feedback. We will provide reasonable notice and analysis on why your application did or did not move to the next stage for all start-ups and scale-ups that complete the submission form relevantly and clearly.
